2019-2020 Gender-based analysis plus

General information

Governance structures

The OIC will continue to integrate GBA+ considerations in all funding requests.

The review of the OIC’s GBA+ governance structure (see below) will determine what form it should take in the coming years.

Human resources

1 FTE will be involved in all GBA+ activities

Planned initiatives

The Audit and Evaluation Committee and Executive Committee will review the OIC’s GBA+ strategy.

The OIC is looking to compile disaggregated statistics on the following:

- complaints that refer to issues associated with GBA+; and

- complainants that identify as a member of a group recognized by GBA+.

The OIC will use the data to assess service levels for members of these groups compared to service levels for the overall population, based on turnaround times for resolving complaints. This analysis would also shed light on whether the OIC’s program contains any barriers to access, however unintentional.

The OIC is currently assessing how best to collect this disaggregated data. Various options on point(s) and methods of collection has been submitted to OIC management for consideration. Note, however, that the OIC is currently carrying out an internal evaluation of its processes and performance measures, as well as a major IT systems migration. As a result, the OIC will only begin data collection and analysis once those projects are complete.
