- Born and raised in North Vancouver. BC Institute of Technology grad.
- Prior to politics, spent 30+ years managing hotels and convention centres across Canada.
- Former president and special advisor to Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation, the largest seniors hospital foundation on Vancouver Island.
- In Edmonton, has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Northlands, the board of the Alberta Aviation Museum, was Chairperson of the EI Board of Referees for Edmonton and Northern Alberta, and was a founding co-chair of the Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels.

- In 2021, she was selected as the Rising Star among Maclean’s12th annual Parliamentarians of the Year.
